Interviewer: Welcome, Vishal. First thing came in my mind while I started to read the book was “Sevak”. If I ask you, can you explain the story behind the pen name “Sevak”?
Sevak: Thanks for this question. Truly, I really wanted to provide my selfless help to all the needy surrounded. Want to motivate and inspire every individual during their tough times, by my selfless words, thoughts and acts, without any expectation. Want to serve this society and deep from my heart, betterment of this mankind. I wanted to have this pen name in a true sense! A true ‘Sevaa’ and hence, ‘Sevak’
Interviewer: How is your literary journey so far? Please explain in brief.
Sevak: Of course, it was not at all simple and easy to go path though, but yeah, it was and it is never impossible too! Definitely, you all can achieve this feat too. The only motto/vision, just do not give up. Even if you are tired or getting frustrated, just don’t give up! Initially, you won’t even understand the basic nitty-gritty or detailed insight of writing a Novel, but frankly, never let go away your thoughts, which most of the times emerged in your mind and heart, let them be very immature. Just pen those down. Silly to silly words, emotions, every minute aspects. Just pen down somewhere. And of course, you can slowly build your experience by continual reading as well visualizing/imaging process. Surely, you should read many liking novels, their different aspects. While, an Author like me, in my case, along with multiple novels/literature readings, I do keep myself engage visualizing the things by watching multiple movies, short stories, stage drama, plays etc. That way, it just open up your thinking process, more in macro level. Tough part for me, when I was not feeling proper message/outcome, which I wanted from every single paragraph, every single page, every single chapter, and finally from the entire Novel. But nothing to worry here. As with the time and experience, I have learnt a best part being as an Author is that, an Author should definitely have to be a good reviewer. Yes, you yourself be the first level of reviewer, for your own Novel. Frankly, that helped me a lot. Every time, whenever I used to re-visit my own written paragraphs / pages / chapters, every time, I did find some new thoughts, new imagination and new idea to streamline the writing. Seriously, it helps. At times, you will be bored seeing same page again and again, but believe me, just do it, it helps a lot. Another frustrating part, after writing a Novel, then to find a proper publisher and get your work notified to your desired readers. It’s itself a big ocean in it. But nothing complex, or I should say impossible task to achieve. Multiple ways are there to achieve this feat as well. Traditional publication is always being the top best approach for all the Authors, who have dreamed to be. But sometimes, it doesn’t help everyone though. Also, it eats up much of your time to get your work into the market and to the reader’s hand. So, it remains individual choice. Another way, to approach literary agents and get your written work into reader’s hands. This way too helps a lot. And final way, self-publication. You can surely go for self-publication for faster results. All in all, do not give up at any stage. Let your first work to get notified and enters into the real world, amongst the varied readers. Get it professionally reviewed for your betterment and skill improvement. It helps a lot to become a successful Author!
Interviewer: We would like to know about the story behind the title-deciding. How it came “#Mylifeline”? Especially that hashtag seems very much interesting.
Sevak: Very interesting part though! I used to keep signature citation in my personal as well as professional conversation and a few moments, I have kept my status as “My Life Line – Always for others happiness” during my college days as well as my initial corporate years . . . Which then eventually, lead me remembered while writing this first debut Novel series, and I deeply thought that, it won’t be an individual story but it will be a story of everyone, every reader and that way, they should feel their own story, that’s why . . . MyLifeLine and then to provide a special assistance, so, #MyLifeline. Want to have personal touch, feeling with this name and at the same time, a cool tag.
Interviewer: When you actually started writing? Was it your childhood hobby or you recently started? Please tell us your writing career so far.
Sevak: I used to write short stories, stage plays, and skit stories during my college days but those incidences never pumped me up within as those were only for entertainment and fun purpose. Frankly, I never had any writing experiences to become an Author or writing a Novel before. But tremendous ups and downs in my personal life and when I faced all the challenges in person, I then realized a so-called word ‘depression’ due to just mere failures. And that’s so true. I too then became helpless and alone like others during my own failures. But with god graces and because of his positive attitude towards life, I came out from that depression and realized that there must be many other people in this world, who must have experienced and probably experiencing the same black hole in their life, like me. And that’s the point . . . I have then recalled my one of the best buddy’s inspirational life story, breath taking ups and downs and finally, decided to pen down his emotions, his story, and spread that true inspirational story at every corner, to help others, to helping them coming out from their depression. I did not let my moral down and did not let myself demotivated during my own tough time, my own bad time and during this entire Novel writing journey. Because, I have stopped writing this Novel many times before. I was getting multiple difficulties to furbish the proper story, to outline the proper message, to maintain the connectivity etc. And hence, many times I have stopped writing this Novel with great frustration. But then, I stood up again and finally, I have decided to pen down this script by any means, to motivate and help young generation, youth, during their shaky situations, their tough depressive time. And final outcome! #MyLifeline (Part I and II) Novel series got published worldwide, While Part III is yet to publish, which is already in the process and will come out very soon. Moreover, with my simplicity and selfless helpful nature, I have decided to share all the true, innocent moments, thoughts, and experiences, with proper justification with my best knowledge, to every individual around the corner. I wanted to motivate all of them and with having the same belief, my heart led me towards writing this Novel series, in very simple English language, with simple statements and grammar, without heavy vocabs and jargons to avoid the language barrier, to maintain the simplicity throughout, to convey my understanding, thoughts and innocent intensions towards the mankind. With maturity and time, during my 25-27 years of young time, I got strong feeling to pen down all the personal experience and feelings and emotions on paper, and that’s the birth! I have started with blogs, short stories and motivational/inspirational 4-liners and finally, Novels!
Interviewer: So far you have been receiving a good response from the readers. How does it feel to you that your debut book is doing well among the readers?
Sevak: It always feels good to an Author, and especially an Author like me who just recently jumped into the big literature ocean, along with others, to motivate and inspire this entire mankind. It personally feel way good to me when acclaimed, avid readers pick your work, and thoroughly gives a feedback on all the critics’ aspects. At the same time, it helps you to improvise a lot and helps you to understand and explore your new wings. It helps tremendously!
Interviewer: What are your views on novel writings in India? It has become a favourite genre of readers and they are loving it. How do you see the future of the novel in India?
Sevak: Novels just touches the soul and most importantly, it enlightens the heart, with all the real life stories, incidents, social current affairs etc. Readers just want to live with that and want to get motivate and inspire out of it. Hence, became the most favourite genre.
Interviewer: As a reader, which type of books you like. Tell us something about your interest areas in literature.
Sevak: Frankly, there are many types of books I love to read, but motivating and inspiring literatures are very much close to my heart. Of course, it would be way difficult for me to pin out few out of them. I do engage in multiple literature readings (in all four different languages: English, Hindi, Marathi, and Gujarati). I do listen many speeches, watch videos, many social activities events, where stage play being my most favourite part along with short stories and movies. I keep constantly engage myself with all the motivating and inspiring literature surrounded to me by any Author and it just give me immense happiness and peace within.
Interviewer: Who is your favourite character from the book “#Mylifeline”. If I ask you to choose between Nishaan and Shikha, who will be the one and why?
Sevak: Of course ‘Nishaan’. He is just very much close to my heart. Shikha too played a most important role, but for me, personally, I loved Nishaan’s character a lot. As ‘Nishaan’, the most important and main character of my entire Novel series. He is the heart of my Novel. A kind, humble and selfless young boy who always ready to help everyone and spread happiness in their life. Wheatish complexion with handsome look and having most average Indian boy height having athlete physic. He is perfect example of a youth (age between 25- 30 years). Nishaan is very extrovert, jolly, social, loving and happy to go character who always mix with everyone, hangouts with everyone. He is lead event planner, social entrepreneur of every event amongst his friends, relatives, family and during his college as well as his corporate world. Nishaan is a kind of character, who is most loveable boy amongst his family, relatives, friends and everyone, who always want his company. Nishaan gives respect to every human being, be it kid or elder. In my Novel, he plots the entire story with his motivational and selfless help towards his friends during their academics, high school, college and then corporate world. Though he was struggling from his own financial background but never let that come in front of him or to anyone. He showed his main character by facing real life challenges smilingly. He showed his true efforts and dedication and with that he achieved good remarks during his entire academics as well as in corporate world. He added beautiful shades in his love life with Shikha too, he loved and care her the most. He gave her everything. He too failed in his love as well corporate journey. He was sacked from his job as well, which led him towards utmost financial crisis in his family. But then fought against his own depression and demotivation by boosting his self-confidence and led himself towards ultimate inner happiness. Nishaan never let his moral down at any tough situations. He smilingly came out from it with flying colours. Nishaan’s true dedication and efforts always kept him apart and top amongst everyone. His true self-motivation and positive approach towards life always gave him ultimate inner happiness, which he has spread across every corner. While Shikha, she too is another most important and main character of my entire Novel series. She made the duo with Nishaan to whom Nishaan loved the most. She is the most beautiful and gorgeous. She is very sweet, soft-spoken, soft-hearted girl to whom Nishaan met first time in his life. She is having perfect figure and average Indian girl height. Young age like Nishaan. She is looking like an angel on this earth. She is down to earth, very satisfied with life, having helping nature, religious and very friendly and charming amongst her group. She is main character amongst her group of friends and always used to mix with everyone. She is very jolly and happiest girl. She loves to explore everything, loves to travel, shopping, and movies and enjoy foods at different restaurants. She is also played one of the main character in my Novel, as she showed her practical approach and attitude towards every situation. She was kind of a girl who do not want to hurt anyone in her life. Though she was liking Nishaan’s company, and was having great soft corner, ultimate care and love towards him but then never showed her inner love to him due to her parents’ decision to not marry outside of their cast/religion. Moreover, she was always showing him a reality of their relationship, their fate, their destiny and was helping him to come out from that bitter harsh truth for not getting married. Though she was having a very poor financial background, was living in poor chawl type society but her values, her happiness was keeping her always on high and above all that real facts. Though she was living her life as a free bird but was balancing her life between practicality and emotions.
Interviewer: Are you currently working on other projects as well? Please let your readers know about the same and how it will be.

Interviewer: Tell us something about your publishing experience. Many new writers are looking to publish their book but they are not finding a good way. What do you suggest to them?
Sevak: I do agree and sometimes, it just become the most frustrating part in your entire process, for getting a proper publisher and get your work published all over the world. Because, writing a Novel itself is a big challenge, and when you somehow finish that part, then land into another nightmare to find a proper publisher and get your work notified to your desired readers. It’s itself a big ocean in it. But frankly my dear friends, nothing is as complex as it is visible and portrayed, or I should say not an impossible task to achieve.
